Hello children,
It was a long trip home. There was a delay at the Trans Atlantic Portkey station that kept me for several hours. Unfortunately, I cannot sit a broom for hours on end (sciatica, you know) so I had to wait for them to sort it out and as I got home very late last night I had no time to write my wonderful new story, but I am finding that everything that happens can be used as inspiration.
I haven't come up with a title yet. Perhaps you readers can come up with some suggestions along the way.
For now I present you with
Chapter One
A Grand Entrance
Raveena Ebony Alexis Alstromeria Morgana Mahogany Rhiannon Crysanthemum Bukkake Willow Calliope Hyacinth Cordellia Aspen Mary Lilly Sue Smith, a fifth year transfer student from America sailed into the great hall fifteen minutes after the feast started. Every head in the hall turned at the sound of the door opening. All gazed upon her angelic features as she shook out her glossy mane of strawberry tresses.
Raveena wasn’t the type to try to call attention to herself, but there had been a delay at the Trans-Atlantic Portkey station that had caused her to miss the Hogwarts Express so she had flown the whole way on her broom. Many people might have difficulty flying quite such a long distance, but Raveena had been on the Salem Institute for Witches quidditch team (most recently as seeker, although she played all positions equally well and had been rotating through them) for years and the flight was no longer than the championship game between SIW and the Anapolis Wizards Acadamy last year (which she had won, by the way, when she beet the AWA seeker to the snitch three feet from the ground at the beginning of the thirteenth hour of the game.) Since her luggage had made the train, Raveena had not had a chance to change into her school robes so she walked down the asile between the center tables dressed as she had been when she had left Wyoming that morning. Her dainty feet were cloaked in soft, supple, high heeled suede riding boots that came to just below the knees of her tight, designer jeens. She had on a shimmery gold lame T-shirt under a fur trimmed jacket of the same suede as her boots. At waist and throat sparkled glints of red from the massive ruby belt buckle and pendant her Grandmother (who had been the daughter of a Cherrokkee chief and an Aztec princess) had left to Raveena on her death bed. Raveena’s unpredictable talent for True Seeing (inherited from her great grandmother the famous Irish seeress, Magdelena Morgana Murphy Malone) had told her that there would come a time when her life would depend on her wearing those magical rubies, so she never went anyware without them.
Raveena’s sapphire green eyes swept across the gazes of the students at the tables, catching briefly on the aristocratic, pointed face of a blond boy her age who had the look of a leader to him. She also noted the boy with dark hair and a lightening shaped scar who had to be that boy her cousin had told her was so famous over here, Harold Potter, she thought his name was. He was sitting between a tall boy with flaming red hair and a studious looking girl who’s bushy hair was escaping from the loose ponytail she had tried to tame it into. It was a sham the girl had so little care for her appearance. Raveena could tell that she would be passably pretty if she just put in a little effort. Maybe Raveena could be her friend and give her a makeover. After scanning the students, Raveena looked up at the head table. The headmaster was standing near a podium at the front of the dias and the teachers were seated at the table behind him. One of the teachers was a handsome woman in a beautiful dress of dark pink that complimented her complexion perfectly. Raveena felt warmed by this teacher’s smile and couldn’t help but grin in response.
The headmaster had clearly just finished a speech when Raveena walked in but he smiled down at her and moved back to the podium.
"It looks like good fortune has smiled upon us all tonight. I had feared that we would not be granted the treat of her presence, but it looks as if our new American transfer student has made it after all. Professor McGonagall, would you please bring the sorting hat back out. We have one more student to sort this evening before you all tuck into your feasts."
A tall, severe looking witch stood up from her place behind the table and brought out a stool and a hat. Raveena sat down upon the stool and placed the ragged old hat upon her head. The Great hall was very quiet as the students watched Raveena sit upon the stool. She sat there for one minute, then two, then three. The minutes stretched on and the students started rustling. They were uncomfortable with the silence and with the length of time the hat was taking. As they all eyed their food, wondering if it would be alright to start eating, an amazing thing happened. Mrs. Norris climbed down the steps from the dias and walked right up to where Raveena was sitting on the stool. The cat walked once around the stool and then wound through Raveena’s legs twice before jumping into the girl’s lap and laying down. Her loud purrs could be heard through out the great hall.
Finnaly, the hat came back to life, but instead of announcing which house Raveena would be in, it started singing again. It seemed as though the hat had picked up from where it left off before the main sorting.
"I have told you, I have warned you that the Sorting might be wrong
but never before have I found a one in whom all qualities are equally strong.
Brave enough for Gryffindor, Ambition to do Slytherin proud,
As hard working and loyal as Hufflepuff could desire with
Ravenclaw intelligence that picks her out of the crowd.
House unity, I’ve been telling you, is what will save our school
And never before have I found such a one in which all four qualities equally rule.
If Hogwarts is to survive the strife which surely must be coming
I urge you to band behind this girl and trust her wits and cunning.
She is the one I’ve hoped for long, the one who was prophesied
She must bring balance to theforce houses or Hogwarts will no longer lead.
To this end I refuse to sort this one apart
Instead I require that she be housed in the room that is the heart.
Of all houses and none this child shall be to lead you in your fight.
The Chosen One must learn from her how to do what’s right."
The hat went quiet once again and the sound of silence in the great hall was broken only by Mrs. Norris’ contented purring. After a few minutes, Professor McGonnagal came forward and took the hat from Raveena’s head. There was a look of confusion on the girl’s beautiful face.
"Where am I supposed to go?" She asked, scooping up the cat up as she stood.
"I’m not certain." Replied the teacher. "This will require discussion. Why don’t you sit there for now." She gestured to the end of the table closest to where Raveena stood.
The robes of the children at this table had yellow linings and trim. Raveena slid onto the end of a bench next to an impeccably groomed young man who smelled really good.
"Welcome to Hufflepuff. Er… sort of." Said the boy, extending a well-manicured hand. "I’m Justin Fitch-Fletchley."
Raveena smiled at him uncertainly, shook his hand and started choosing food for her plate, trying to ignore the stares of everyone else in the hall. She may not have intended to, but Raveena Ebony Alexis Alstromeria Morgana Mahogany Rhiannon Crysanthemum Bukkake Willow Calliope Hyacinth Cordellia Aspen Mary Lilly Sue Smith had certainly made a grand entrance to her new school.

I hope you like it but again, I know I don't have to make demands for comments, as all of you delightful children proved on my last entry.
It is wonderful how much you all love me, and I love a healthy sense of competition, but please, do try to be civil to one another. There will be plenty of room on my inquisitorial squad next year for students who exhibit the right qualities, no matter which house they happen to be in.
Love to you all. I will try to write more soon.
